How you'll help us Keep Climbing (overview & key responsibilities)

Operations Analytics co-ops will work with analytics professionals supporting one of the following functions or departments:

  • Technical Operations (TechOps)
    • Performance Management & Insights - Provide divisional and business unit KPIs, goals, Monthly Performance, Reviews, and various performance management activities including reporting, analysis, and metric creation.
    • Analysis- Provide executive support and KPI analysis to understand and improve performance.
    • Data Enablement- Mainly comprised of data engineers. Our team is focused on data curation and automated reporting.
    • Resource Planning- Resource Planning is responsible for providing divisional, business unit, & departmental staffing simulations to support TechOps inclusive of staffing logic, demand forecast, & capacity calibration.
Though individual responsibilities will vary by function, some examples are given below:

  • Measure current operational performance and/or customer satisfaction
  • Identify optimization opportunities to reduce injuries and security line wait times
  • Research, analyze and interpret operational data
  • Develop new reports and dashboards and automate existing ones
  • Perform reliability/root-cause analysis for parts and maintenance
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations for improvement of key operational metrics including aircraft time at gate, gating efficiency, and feasibility of aircraft schedules
  • Seek operational improvements to reduce aircraft taxi time and flight time
  • Maintain, run and improve staffing models to support airport operations
  • Provide strategic and operational support and develop performance metrics and goals
  • Develop success factors and statistical evaluations of new procedures and systems

What You Need To Succeed (minimum Qualifications)

Students must be able to complete the below schedule while actively enrolled in school:

  • Spring 2025
  • Fall 2025
  • Summer 2026
  • Undergraduate students in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or Information Systems in a 4-year degree program
  • Must be available for three alternating semesters
  • Candidate is team oriented and highly supportive of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Strong organizational, project management, and verbal/written communication skills are essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data analysis tools and concepts
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL or similar database query tool knowledge and Macro programming is strongly preferred
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
