Summary:
The Content and Communications Specialist is responsible for creating and executing internal and external communications, marketing materials, and public relations efforts for CDS Life Transitions, its affiliate companies, and support departments. This role works closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to promote and grow the CDS Life Transitions brand across various media and platforms, building awareness throughout the community.
Essential Job Functions:
• Develop internal and external communications, including newsletters, email campaigns, press releases, and marketing collateral
• Create and maintain engaging content for agency social media channels, websites, and presentations
• Provide customer service support through digital channels and social platforms
• Proofread and edit communications from staff and other stakeholders, ensuring adherence to brand guidelines
• Capture, edit, and publish digital media content (photos, videos) for use online, in print, and at events
• Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners
• Support public relations efforts and logistics for special events and tours, including promotions, materials, and on-site coordination
• Represent and promote CDS Life Transitions brands to internal and external audiences
• Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong foundation in grammar, spelling, and composition
• Proficiency in copywriting, editing, and content creation
• Skilled in creating engaging presentations
• Experience with multi-media marketing and communication channels (e.g., PR, video, photography, social media) preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently, manage time, and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office Suite, and Mac OS preferred
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with staff, individuals, families, donors, and other stakeholders
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field required
• Minimum of two years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered at the discretion of the Executive Vice President and Human Resources
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:
• Ability to sit for extended periods
• Must be able to reach above shoulder level and twist/turn upper body
• Frequent use of hands and arms for fine manipulation and keyboarding
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Occasional evening and weekend hours required for events or projects
