Job Description: Work within the Beta Host development team to develop, maintain, and test software applications for a variety of application programs in both an online (CICS) and batch (MVS) environment. Review and edit software requirements, specifications, and technical business processes, and propose recommendations and software solutions. Research and develop system designs and functional specifications. Develop functional and technical specifications and develop software in current BETA standards. Utilize Customer Information Control System (CICS) application servers to maintain online transaction connectivity for software applications on our IBM mainframe systems. Ensure technical products, applications, documents, and systems comply with established quality assurance standards and take remedial action to ensure compliance where necessary. Implement and support software applications in test and production environments, and author Technical Specification, Impact Analysis, and Unit Test Case documents accordingly. Utilize knowledge of DB2 and Oracle stored procedures to maintain software compatibility with SQL databases. Perform unit and regression testing for software applications in both online (CICS) and batch (MVS) environments. Participate in daily scum meetings and provide status and project updates to management. Some telecommuting is permitted.
Education Requirement: Master’s degree in CS, MIS, CIS or related
Experience Requirement: 3 years of experience as a software developer, programmer analyst, systems analyst, technical lead or related
Special Skills: Must have employment experience with each of the following: 1) COBOL, CICS, JCL, and TSO; 2) DB2 database experience, including understanding how to write and tune high performing SQL in DB2; 3) Mainframe design and architecture; 4) Brokerage business processing flow; and 5) Agile or waterfall system development lifecycle experience.
