Description

We're looking for a field technician for an entry-level position in our Nashville office. Initially, this position will focus on locating and pinpointing leaks in water distribution systems throughout Davidson County. Eventually, you'll share responsibility for all aspects of leak detection for clients across the US. Must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time.

How you’ll help: 

 

  • Learning procedures for locating and pinpointing leaks in a water distribution system using specialized acoustic and digital equipment 

  • Learning the planning, reporting, and management tasks of the leak-detection work, including reading and interpreting maps, planning field work, preparing reports, maintaining equipment, and managing general logistics 

  • Assisting with general maintenance of equipment, tools, and vehicles 

  • Supporting other field activities as needed 

  • Entering data and preparing reports using tablets, GIS applications, and Microsoft Office applications 

 

 

Most of the work will be performed during normal working hours; occasionally, you'll need to work at night or on a weekend. Once you're completely familiar with all aspects of the leak-detection work (generally in three to six months), we may assign you to leak-detection projects outside of Nashville. This position will eventually require travel throughout the US and sometimes for extended periods. 

 

 

What will make you a great fit 

 

  • Associate degree or college experience preferred 

  • Plumbing background or experience preferred 

  • General ability to work with hand tools 

  • Computer skills and familiarity with tablets, Word, Excel, or similar products 

  • Be in good physical condition and able to perform strenuous field work 

  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time in all weather conditions 

  • Valid driver's license 

  • Excellent driving record 

  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time 

  • Self-motivated, enjoy working independently, self-starter, organized, and enjoy being self-directed

The budgeted salary for this position is:
