  • Part-Time (22.8 Hours per week)
  • Fixed-Term until 18 November 2025
  • generous salary packaging options
  • flexible work arrangements
  • strong connection to community and innovation

We’re looking for a Dental Officer to join our close-knit, multi-disciplinary dental team. Whether you're a seasoned public dental practitioner or early in your career with strong values and a commitment to health equity, this is a role where your clinical skills and community mindset will shine.

About the role

You’ll provide a full scope of general dental care to our clients – from diagnosis and emergency services to restorations, extractions, minor oral surgery, periodontal care and oral health education. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring early-career clinicians and contributing to service quality and innovation.

  • Your day-to-day will include:
  • Providing high-quality clinical care including examinations, diagnostics, restorations, extractions, and infection management
  • Delivering preventive services and tailored oral health education in a supportive, trauma-informed way
  • Performing conservative periodontal management and endodontic treatment where appropriate
  • Supporting patient flow and access through efficient time and appointment management
  • Keeping accurate and high-quality clinical records in line with AHPRA and DHSV guidelines
  • Contributing to clinical meetings, peer reviews, and quality improvement activities
  • Acting as a mentor for Dental Therapists, Oral Health Therapists, and junior dentists
  • Promoting and modelling best-practice infection prevention and control
  • Participating in ongoing training, professional development, and policy review

This position offers clinical variety, career development, and the opportunity to work with a team that’s genuinely passionate about making a difference.

About you

You’ll be someone who brings:

  • AHPRA registration as a Dental Practitioner (General Dentist) and a current radiation licence
  • Strong clinical skills across preventive and restorative care, endodontics, extractions and infection management
  • A patient-centred, trauma-informed approach to care, with an understanding of the social model of health
  • Experience working in public or community health settings (or a strong interest in transitioning into this space)
  • A warm, collaborative and curious mindset – someone who works well across teams and thrives in diverse environments

Fluency in a relevant community language is a plus, as is an interest in community outreach and oral health promotion.
