We are currently accepting applications for an Electrical Controls Engineer at our State-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Watertown, WI, conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee The position works day shift hours Monday – Friday and requires up to 10% travel. The role will report to the Engineering Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:  Conceptualize, design, program, troubleshoot and optimize automation control systems and hardware for plant and building operations.  Work with 3rd party integrators to design hardware and software systems for complex control and automation applications. Work with multiple engineering disciplines to ensure complete and efficient execution of capital projects and plant operations.  Supervise and direct contractors on day-to-day basis regarding electrical and automation projects.  Provide guidance on power distribution systems as they relate to plant operations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Program Automation Control Systems for plant processes and building automation
  • Direct contractors/vendors on electrical activities related to projects
  • Write and revise detailed Functional Specifications for Automated Control Systems
  • Create and update Electrical Schematics for panel building and control system wiring
  • Create and update P&IDs for plant processes and building systems
  • Identify and order electrical hardware as necessary to support projects
  • Travel domestically to support implementation and commissioning of electrical systems within CQC
  • Work with vendors to specify hardware and software
  • Review, approve and participate in design of plant power distribution systems including medium voltage equipment and hardware
  • Support plant operations and maintenance for troubleshooting of electrical/automation systems
  • Responsible for training and development of internal maintenance personnel to a proficient level
  • Maintain regular attendance at work and work overtime as needed.
  • Perform all tasks assigned by the supervisor, while following all company, safety, and quality policies and procedures.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, PHYSICAL):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience. 
  • At least 2 years of experience in manufacturing, preferably in food. 
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical and Standard 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Project
  • Familiar with UL Standards, NEC Codes (NFPA 70, 70E, and 79)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Siemens is desired
