Work setup 🌍

We offer two work models: a hybrid setup (three days working from home, two days in the office) or a remote setup with occasional visits to our Barcelona office for team events, training, and business trips. Your designated home office should be in Spain, and you are expected to work exclusively within Spain.

Sanoma Learning’s NPM train is on the lookout for a Tech Leader specialized in Phyton and PHP to join our vibrant, international team. We’re a group of enthusiastic, friendly, and talented individuals dedicated to revolutionizing primary education. As a Tech Leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of our platform for primary education, used by tens of thousands of teachers and students. You will contribute to innovative solutions that meet the needs of educators and learners alike.

About the role

As a Tech Leader you will be responsible for:
 
•    Technical leadership: Guide development teams on best practices, coding standards, and architectural decisions;

•    Governance: Actively participate in the Tech Lead Forum, facilitating communication and collaboration between Architecture and DevOps teams;

•    Innovate: Working on Proof-of-Concepts to assess new technologies, tools and techniques that could benefit both architectural goals and Engineering processes, and in the end, SL's customers.

•    Cross-team collaboration: with the Architecture Office, with other CLS and non-CLS DevOps teams, with Product Management, etc.;

•    Solution design: Translate high-level architectural vision into practical implementation strategies, incl. estimating high-level effort, i.e. as part of business cases or SL's strategic planning process;

•    Mentorship: Grow the maturity of the DevOps teams by identifying and addressing knowledge or skill gaps;

•    Knowledge sharing: Demonstrating technical thought leadership to a broader audience;

Must-have requirements

Education:
✅Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Backed Development:
✅Strong proficiency in Python 3.12, FastApi, Php 8+, Laravel 9+and async/reactive programming.
✅Experience with debugging, maintaining, and supporting large-scale live systems in production.
✅Experience in designing and developing microservice architectures.

Database & Storage:
✅Experience with relational and nonrelational databases.

DevOps & Cloud:
✅Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes (K8s) for containerized application deployment.
✅Strong knowledge and experience with AWS infrastructure.
✅Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Bitbucket).

Best practices & Agile:
✅Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
✅Strong understanding of software design patterns and SOLID principles.

Languages:
✅ English proficiency: B2/C1 (both written and spoken communication).
✅ Spanish proficiency: B2/C1 (both written and spoken communication).
