Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and results-oriented Senior Director to lead our Professional Services Strategic Programs with a focus on AI and Platform Automation, Application Development Initiatives Services Offer and our Technology, Platforms, and Engineering Solutions (TPES) partnerships. This senior leadership role will be instrumental in shaping and executing the strategy for leveraging artificial intelligence and automation to drive business efficiency, innovation, and a competitive edge. The ideal candidate will be a thought leader with a proven track record of building and managing high-performing teams that deliver robust and scalable applications and AI-powered solutions. This individual will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our application portfolio and offers, from strategic planning and development to deployment and ongoing optimization, while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
AI & Automation Strategy & Execution:
Develop and execute a comprehensive AI and automation strategy that aligns with and advances overall business objectives.
Identify and prioritize opportunities to implement AI, machine learning, and automation technologies to enhance business processes, improve decision-making, and create new revenue streams.
Champion a data-driven culture, promoting the ethical and effective use of data and AI across the organization.
Stay at the forefront of emerging AI and automation trends and technologies, evaluating their potential impact and driving adoption where appropriate.
Oversee the development and deployment of scalable and robust AI models and automation solutions.
Application Team Leadership & Delivery:
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of application developers, engineers, and AI specialists.
Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages creativity and continuous improvement.
Direct the entire application development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
Ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure applications that meet the needs of business stakeholders and end-users.
Implement and refine agile development methodologies to optimize team velocity and product quality.
TPES Platform & Operations:
Provide strategic oversight and direction for the Technology, Platforms, and Engineering Solutions (TPES), ensuring its capabilities support the broader AI and application development goals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including infrastructure, security, and data science, to ensure seamless integration and operation of platforms and applications.
Manage vendor relationships and partnerships related to AI, automation, and application development technologies.
Develop and manage the departmental budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to achieve strategic objectives.
Stakeholder Management & Communication:
Serve as a key advisor to senior leadership on the strategic application of AI and automation.
Effectively communicate the vision, strategy, and progress of AI and application initiatives to technical and non-technical audiences.
Build strong relationships with business leaders to understand their needs and identify opportunities for technology-driven solutions.
Services Offers and Sales:
Serve as thought leader on services offers and lifecycle management
Partner with key stakeholders such as Sales. Marketing and Partner to develop new offers and solutions which generate new revenue streams

Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field.
10+ years of experience in software engineering, application development, or a related area.
5+ years of leadership experience in managing and scaling high-performing technical teams.
Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing AI, machine learning, or automation solutions that have delivered significant business value.
Deep understanding of AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and frameworks.
Extensive experience with modern application architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), and DevOps practices.
Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant field.
Experience in [Industry relevant to the company, e.g., Finance, Healthcare, Retail].
Demonstrated experience in managing large-scale, complex technology projects.
Familiarity with data governance and security best practices in the context of AI and application development.
A strong portfolio of successfully launched applications and AI-driven products.
The compensation range reflects the Company’s good faith belief at the time of posting. 8x8 has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. The range above reflects the potential base pay across the U.S. for this role; the applicable base pay range will depend on what ultimately is determined to be the candidate’s primary work location. Further, individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience, knowledge, success, education and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including discretionary merit increases, bonus and/or stock. Certain roles have the opportunity to earn sales variable compensation incentives based on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
Salary Ranges:
