Business Development Manager
About the role:
DUAL North America, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Manager to support the division lead in creating strategic distribution and operational opportunities for the Flood Team. This role will create new business strategies to increase premiums/revenues by maintaining client relationships, identifying new business opportunities and to develop sales and marketing strategies to enhance profitable growth.
Location: Remote
Salary range: $125,000.00-135,000.00
Essential Functions:
Provide Distribution Partners with Online Training, Group Webinars and Support
- Facilitate launch of DUAL Flood CE course with application, content, and hosting of course
- Assist Business Development Representative with individual webinar training for Retail Brokers/Appulate clients with our online Flood WebRater system
- User support for the online Flood WebRater system
- Set up on-line Flood WebRater accounts with log in and password
- Assist with DUAL Broker webinar meetings
- Help schedule new customer and existing clients with online training
- Email – invite- the prior to the event- and follow up with those that attended
- Assist/Lead training sessions for DUAL Specialty Perils webinars
- Assist with online rater training videos
- Create and maintain PowerPoint Presentations, Audio and Video content for our webinars, and other presentations
- Develop and deploy organic growth initiatives with other DUAL property silos
Manage Producer Appointment Process
- Assist with Retail Brokers/Appulate client appointments
- Request/Collect information needed for producer appointment
- Add & Update producer information in IMS (names, address, accounting info, commission)
- Setup up producer in IMS
- Coordinate marketing leads, help support organic growth through cross-sell opportunities through the SalesForce.com platform
- Setup DUAL Flood WebRater Users with passwords and links
- Support Sales Force activity – input and ongoing management
Manage the inbound Flood marketing email inbox
- Respond to general inquiries
- Respond internally & externally to email requests
- Reporting customer personal changes or organizational email changes
Manage the Flood Producer/Business Unit Reports (Microsoft Power BI)
- Deliver monthly activity/GWP reports
- Coordinate and prepare production reports for broker visits and conferences
- Coordinate monthly Top 50 Wholesale Flood producers reports
- Coordinate monthly Top 50 Retail Brokers Flood producers reports
- Coordinate & develop re-solicitation process for missed/quoted opportunities that were not taken-up
Assist division lead with Sales and Producer Communication
- Help schedule internal/external sales call campaigns
- Assist with internal calls
- Attend and assist with external personal sales calls
- Follow up calls to inactive online Flood WebRater users
Conference and Convention Support
- Attend and assist Business Development at all Flood related conferences
- Help schedule conference meetings
- Assist with event planning, lunches and dinners and marketing material
Other Areas of Focus & Support (based on skill carry over from current position where needed)
- Work with divisional lead and capacity team with contract renewals, ensuring timely review and execution, collaborate with division head to assess current contract terms and determine if changes or renegotiations are needed
- Work with underwriting team to provide support with program audits, to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with internal team members to gather and verify information requested by the carrier for their due diligence.
- Provide ad hoc assistance to flood underwriting team as needed
Job Requirements (education, experience, skills):
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Finance, Business or a related field preferred
- Professional certifications like CPCU/AU or similar designations a plus
- 5+ years retail insurance producer marketing experience
- 5+ years flood insurance background
- Solid understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment
- Strong analytical, negotiation and decision-making skills
- Excellent written, verbal and client-facing communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to follow policies and procedures
- Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time, with occasional movement in the office to access cabinets and equipment
- Ability to travel up to 30% or more as required for client meetings, conferences, or industry events
