Position Summary: The Revenue Cycle Specialist – Payment Posting plays a vital role in ensuring the financial accuracy of patient accounts through the timely and precise application of payments. This position is responsible for posting insurance and patient payments, reconciling deposits, identifying discrepancies, and supporting the overall revenue cycle operations. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of data integrity.
Essential Job Functions: Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and denials accurately into Revere Health’s billing system. Reconcile posted payments with daily deposit reports, electronic remittance advices (ERAs), and paper explanations of benefits (EOBs). Investigate and resolve variances in payment amounts, including underpayments, overpayments, and unapplied funds. Collaborate with the A/R and denial management teams to ensure proper account resolution. Monitor and work credit balances and process patient and payer refunds as needed. Maintain a current understanding of payer-specific rules and coding/payment policies. Ensure all work is performed in compliance with HIPAA regulations and Revere Health policies. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a healthcare or business-related field preferred. Previous experience in medical billing, payment posting, or healthcare revenue cycle preferred, but not required. Basic understanding of healthcare payment processing, insurance terminology, and medical billing systems. Experience with practice management systems and electronic health records (EHR); experience with Athena IDX is a plus. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Hours: Hours: Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift Work from Home (WFH) option available after completing 90 days of employment and meeting department WFH requirements
