Product Owner in Compliance department:

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology centre in Central and Eastern Europe. Since its set-up in 2013, Bucharest Technology Centre (BEX) has constantly proven its capacity to deliver global technology products and services, playing a dynamic role in the Bank’s technology transformation.

We have a robust, hands-on engineering culture dedicated to continuous learning, knowledge-sharing, technical skill development and networking. We are an essential part of the Bank’s technology platform and develop applications for many important business areas.

Our Compliance team is responsible for protecting the bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks.

As a Product Owner you will act as an entrepreneur, strategist, technical visionary, cross-functional team leader, and client advocate. You will be defining the new product to be built and managing its development, launch, and ongoing improvement. To fulfil these responsibilities, this role leads a cross-functional team. You will work together with several SMEs to define the priorities, identify and coordinate the resolution of issues, coordinate implementation of the changes, communicate with wider team and different stakeholders, and ensure the backlog is well managed in terms of priorities, dependencies and delivery timelines with a strong focus on high-quality delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a product vision, requirements and road-map in key focus areas 
  • Work closely with the internal clients to plan and prioritize in line with expectation and needs. Assess value, develop cases, and prioritize stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value 
  • Work closely to squad members to develop technical solutions in line with priorities 
  • Act as a leader, instilling confidence to the overall squad and being front-runner and example for the whole team 
  • Provide an active role in mitigating impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals 
  • Development of professional working relationships with various stakeholder groups across all seniority levels

Skills

  • Degree in Computer Science, Business or equivalent degree 
  • Strong product instinct to build great product vision, product roadmap and competitive analysis 
  • Experience of working in an agile environment, practicing Scrum, Kanban, XP or SAFe 
  • Excellent understanding of client/user needs, business dynamics and key challenges and how these drive potential solutions 
  • Experience in identifying inefficiencies in the value chain and processes, designing solutions and implementing the solution with the support from all relevant stakeholders 
  • Capable to connect the dots beyond own focus area considering end to end processes 
  • Experience leading product and/or cross functional teams 
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical engineering best practices (e.g. test driven development, continuous integration, etc.)  
  • Ability to work under pressure, manage client expectations effective and not get overwhelmed by client pressures on team  
  • Ability to move between strategic discussions with senior client leaders to tackle on the ground agile coaching with teams
