Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented System Administrator to join our team! In this role you will get to manage and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux, VMware virtual environments, and Windows systems to ensure reliable, secure, and efficient IT operations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems within virtualized environments

  • Deploying and managing software applications across virtual systems

  • Monitoring virtual resources to ensure optimal performance, availability, and scalability

  • Configuring and verifying security settings to safeguard virtual infrastructure and maintain compliance

  • Creating, modifying, and managing user accounts within virtual environments

  • Assisting users with login issues and troubleshooting authentication problems

  • Collaborating with the network team and providing support to ensure seamless IT infrastructure operations

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field plus 0-2 years of experience in one or more areas of infrastructure technology ​

  • Exposure to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8 or 9, including system installation, configuration, and basic navigation

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory concepts, such as user accounts, groups, and authentication

  • General understanding of virtual environments (e.g., VMware, KVM, or other virtualization platforms)

  • Awareness of the STIG (Security Technical Implementation Guide) compliance process and system hardening principles

  • Interest in learning how to monitor and manage virtual systems for performance and reliability

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic user issues, including login problems and account permissions

  • Willingness to work closely with network and cybersecurity teams to support overall IT operations

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills and a desire to learn and grow in a collaborative team environment

  • Top Secret clearance is required

  • Fundamental knowledge of security best practices and how to apply them in a technical environment

  • Understanding of basic networking concepts, such as IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, and firewalls

  • Attention to detail and commitment to following security and compliance procedures

  • Adaptability to changing priorities and willingness to take on diverse tasks

  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and continuously improve technical skills

Security Clearance Requirement:

An active Top Secret security clearance is required for this position.​

Salary Range: $72,900.00 - $127,600.00
