Shift: 10:30 PM-7:00 AM

Hourly Rate: $0.00 an hour

JOB TYPE:

This is a non-exempt hourly full-time seasonal position. Employee will have the opportunity to apply to another division after the season ends.

SUMMARY:

The summer fresh pack Ag Operations Coordinator tracks the arrival of tomato loads, manages the yard inventory, schedules the dispatching of loads to the plant to meet production requirements, and sorts the tomato loads, on variety and grade characteristics, for the best plant usage. There will be approximately 160-220 loads each day. On average, the tomato loads will arrive every few minutes. Additionally, the Coordinator is in constant communication with the Plant, Grower, Trucking, and Ag Ops.

Schedule:

A successful candidate must be available to work in 3rd/off shift.

Starting Pay: $24.64/hour

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Must be able to work independently without direct supervision

  • Communicates the daily pick, and any changes, to growers and trucking

  • Insures that all loads have been entered into the GMAS computer application.

  • Manages loads based on variety and grade characteristics

  • Determines the loads shuttle drivers will take to the plant, and tracks the movement of the loads.

  • Accurately accounts for all loads using physical inventories, paper trails, and by matching totals to the GMAS computer application

  • Keeps Ag Ops Field Reps informed on arrivals and usage. Projects ending inventories and adds or cuts loads as necessary

  • Works with Trucking and Growers to account for all loads from the field to the yard.

  • Balances pick, arrived, and in transit loads every morning

  • Arranges for the return or disposal of any rejected loads

  • Contacts Plant Maintenance, and Supervisors, whenever the Grade Station needs repair.

SAFETY:

  • Comply with standard food industry Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) and all other food safety requirements as they relate to all products and processes.

  • Comply with wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE's) when in Ag Ops yard

  • Report any food safety problems or potentially unsafe practices/conditions to Supervisor

  • Participates in all required safety training and reviews.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The Weigh Station is an indoor, air conditioned facility.

  • The position requires frequent and prolonged standing and moving about.

  • Employee must be able to work any shift, and change shifts as required

  • Employee must be willing to work 7 days a week, for the duration of the tomato season.

  • Employee must be willing to work overtime, as required

SCOPE:

  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities

  • The employee will work independently for most of their shift, but will have interaction, face-to-face or over a phone, with a Supervisor as needed

  • The employee will be required to make decisions based established guidelines and instructions from supervisors.

  • The employee will facilitate communication between growers, truckers, and Ag Ops

  • More experienced Coordinators may teach less experienced workers

  • Technical Skills – Should be competent in using Windows applications. Use of a smart phone to call and text growers is required. Should be able to diagnose and resolve minor computer and equipment issues. 10-key proficiency a plus.

  • Clerical Skills – Should be able to perform and switch between tasks quickly. Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while staying organized.

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or 3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Candidates must be able to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal

  • Candidate must be 18 years of age or older
