The Generalist will act as the first point of contact for all Human Resources related questions. The generalist will address general inquiries and redirect staff to appropriate team member for support as needed. This role will be responsible for effective administration of HR policy and procedures: benefits, training, onboarding, policy implementation, recruiting/employment, and workplace injury management 

This role will be working closely HR Manager, CHRO and Training on designated duties. This position will also collaborate with leaders across Tennyson and third-party vendors in effort to provide extraordinary HR support within individual departments. 

 

This role reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer

 

Core Competencies: 

Computer System Agility: Proficiency in using HR technology, including HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems), ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems), and other relevant programs and KPI tools. 

Customer Service: Serving as a voice and resource for employees and advocating for their needs and well-being. 

Execution Excellence: Effectively implementing HR programs and processes to achieve desired outcomes in a timely manner

Business Acumen: Understanding the organization's goals, strategy, and financial performance to align HR practices. 

Data and Organizational Literacy: Analyze and organize HR data to identify and escalate trends, make informed decisions, and measure the effectiveness of HR initiatives. 

 

Essential Job Functions

  • HR Customer service: Be the first point of contact and redirect and support staff and leaders as needed
  • Recruitment support 
  • Onboarding; reference checks, FBI fingerprints, drug test, etc. 
  • Act as point of contact for interns
  • Coordinate meetings and tours as needed 
  • Maintain current and accurate job descriptions and personnel files 
  • Maintain employee files (electronic and hard copy files) 
  • Post open positions 
  • Training support as needed
  • Coordinate exit interviews

 

Other Job Functions

  • Maintain accurate and timely data/trackers and reports 
  • Audits (internal and external) 
  •    Benefit administration; assist employees with benefit plan enrollment. Data entry and ongoing benefit maintenance. 
  •     Help coordinate annual open enrollment for benefits
  •     HRIS, ongoing data entry and employee management through ADP 
  • Workmen’s Compensation reporting and tracking 
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and operate with integrity 
  • Strong customer service, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with various computer systems like HRIS systems, applicant tracking, data tracking and reports 
  • Other duties as assigned 

   

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time in an office setting 
  • Use office equipment and various computer systems like Microsoft programs, LMS, HRIS 

 

    Working Conditions

  • Can work remotely 1 day a week when possible 
  • Office setting 
  • Position will be onsite 
  • Minimal travel may be required 

 


Minimum Qualifications

  • BA Degree with emphasis in HR management, public administration or related field
  • 2-3+ years of experience in a HR Generalist, Coordinator or Specialist roles. 
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards of Human resources in the state of CO
  • All positions require criminal CBI background check, FBI fingerprint check, State of CO child abuse check, DMV driving record check, pre-employment drug test, pre-employment physical, academic credential verification, and reference check.
