Position Overview 

We are seeking a highly driven, passionate, and self-motivated Senior Software Developer to join our dynamic Computational Design and Automation (CDA) engineering team. Our mission is to revolutionize CDA Product lines such as Dynamo and Generative Design by leveraging the latest in Web, Cloud, AI/ML, and 3D Data Visualization technologies. This transformation will empower both existing and new customers to automate design workflows seamlessly on the web.  

As a Senior Developer, you will lead all aspects of software development, creating and maintaining reliable, secure, scalable, and hybrid software (C# Components + React Components) by leveraging modern technologies. You will focus on system capabilities, performance, scalability, and user extensibility, key differentiators that will enable a modern automation authoring environment. This is crucial for customers transitioning from traditional desktop workflows to the cloud.

You will help drive a high-performing team within Autodesk and engage actively with the community's contributors to the Dynamo open-source project. 

 

Responsibilities 

  • Lead all aspects of software development, creating and maintaining reliable, secure, scalable, and hybrid software (C# Components + React Components) by leveraging modern technologies

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product owners, project managers, UX developers and QA to achieve elegant solutions 

  • Code, test, debug and document new and existing functional components to ensure that software meets business, quality and operational needs 

  • Recommend and implement the best practices for design, architecture, and development processes

  • Ensure the quality of the codebase through code reviews, automated testing, and quality control measures  

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in software design and development, with a strong emphasis on building Web App or hybrid solutions 

  • Experience with key web development frameworks, e.g. Node.js, React, TypeScript

  • Proficiency with modern desktop technologies: C++, C#, .NET/.NET Core 

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

  • Track Record of Ownership of Complex Systems or Applications 

  • Stellar troubleshooting skills with the ability to spot issues before they become problems  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Understanding of User Interface / User Experience Design process  

  • Domain Experience with BIM workflows 

  • Experience specifically with 3D modeling tools, geometry processing, mesh optimization, or visualization pipelines 

  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, Spinnaker) 

  • Experience mentoring senior engineers and driving technical strategy at a team or organizational level
