Job description

We are seeking a skilled System Administrator to join our IT Operations team. The ideal candidate will provide 24/7 remote support for our hybrid on-premises virtualized infrastructure and cloud-based services hosted on Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This role focuses on maintaining system availability, performance, and security across both Prem and cloud environments, including support for critical Microsoft security and compliance solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Microsoft 365 Administration: Manage user accounts, licenses, and permissions. Ensure the smooth operation of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and OneDrive for Business.
  • Azure Administration: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and management of Azure resources. Monitor performance, manage security settings, and ensure the scalability and availability of cloud services.
  • Entry Administration: Implement and manage Entra services to provide secure access management. Configure identity and access policies, monitor security events, and ensure compliance with organizational standards.
  • Administer and manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Implement and manage MFA, Conditional Access Policies, and Single Sign On SSO across platforms.
  • Administer MDM/MAM policies via Microsoft Intune to manage endpoints and mobile devices.
  • Support email security, including anti-phishing, anti-spam, and DLP configurations.
  • Provide Operational support for Virtualized environments (VMware ESXI, Hyper V, and Microsoft Azure resources (VMs, Storage, networking, backups.
  • Perform regular system maintenance, updates, and backups to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot system performance issues, providing timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to develop and implement best practices for system administration.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and policies for reference and training purposes.
  • System Maintenance: Regularly monitor and maintain computer systems, servers, and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance.
  • Software Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and update software and operating systems on servers and workstations.
  • Network Management: Manage network services, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Security Management: Implement and manage security measures to protect data, systems, and networks from cyber threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Backup and Recovery: Develop and manage backup strategies and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • User Support: Provide technical support to users, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues promptly.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensure systems comply with organizational standards, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform routine system updates, patches, and security fixes.
  • Generate reports on system performance, security status, and incident responses.
  • Support tickets and manage incidents, service requests, and problems through their full life cycle.
  • Work in a hybrid multi location operations team administering the existing production environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator, Microsoft Entra Administrator, Endpoint Administrator, Microsoft 365 Security, MCSE) are highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in System Administration or similar role in hybrid cloud large enterprise environment.

Required Skills:

  • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and virtualization.
  • Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Intune, Entra ID, MDI, MIP, and MFA/Conditional Access.
  • Familiarity with email protection tools and configurations in Microsoft Defender for office 365.
  • Proficient in PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Good understanding of networking, IT Security principles, and compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently in a 24/7 environment.
  • Exposure to virtualization technologies
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and tools is beneficial.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and make quick, sound decisions.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Working Conditions:

  • This position operates in a 24/7 environment, requiring shift work (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
  • May require occasional on-call responsibilities
