Job description

The Scope
We’re seeking a Junior Forestry Expert to support analytical, research, and operational tasks across forest management initiatives in Europe. You’ll assist in tracking FM growth, document changes, timelines, and audit data—supporting international collaboration in sustainable forestry under the FSC system. 

Ideal for a motivated Master’s or PhD student (forestry/environmental science/natural resource governance) or an early-career consultant with a flair for data and systems thinking. 
Main Roles & Responsibilities
  • Help develop forecasting methodologies by collecting and analyzing forest sector data.
  • Support automated tracking of changes in FSC normative documents across countries.
  • Prepare and maintain timelines for forest-related activities with national partners.
  • Summarize and analyze non-conformities from Digital Audit Reviews (DARs).
  • Assist in building simple digital tools for internal workflows.
Your profile
  • Currently pursuing or holding a Master’s or PhD in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and Excel/other MS skills (Power BI is a bonus).
  • Organized and precise in handling complex datasets or regulatory documents.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); additional UN languages are a plus.
  • A proactive learner with a passion for sustainable forest governance.

The Fine Print
Location: Remote - Europe
Working Hours: Part time - 20 hours per week
Duration of Employment: Initial 6-months of contract with flexibility to extend depending on the business needs and performance
