Your Role:

As a Private Markets AML Officer you will be oversee and support AML (incl. PEP and sanction screening) related systems, processes and operations across all private market business lines and EMEA locations with close cooperation with MLROs.

What you will be doing:

  • Support the design, management and oversight of efficient and effective systems and controls related to AML (which includes, through this document, PEP and sanction screening), ensuring compliance with Anti-Money Laundering and related regulations at all times

  • Ensuring update of such processes, policies and documentation in light of new regulation, general Invesco projects and continuous improvement activities.   Support projects to implement change

  • Support the identification, mitigation and management of AML related risks; reporting and escalation of such risks as needed; mitigating AML improvements identified by internal and external auditors as well as compliance monitoring

  • Overseeing third parties handling outsourced AML activities for Invesco IRE EMEA; adhering to relevant controls, policies & procedures; conducting tests/ site visits to ensure adequate AML quality and adherence to Key Performance Indicators.   Review and oversight of incoming reports, data and MI from third parties

  • Support the completion of client on-boarding including client risk profiling, PEP and sanctions screening and client due diligence, escalating as required.

  • Act as escalation point for completion of service providers’ ongoing transaction monitoring, identifying and tracking suspicious activity, investigating alerts, applying relevant blocks and restrictions, escalating to MLRO/ Compliance as required

  • Completion of counterparties identification, including counterparty risk profiling, PEP and sanctions screening, verification and recording of identification documents.

  • Working closely with Compliance /MLROs across EMEA on BAU and new AML requirements

  • Ensuring delivery  of appropriate and accurate AML related MI and reports to internal stakeholders, external authorities, Boards and Management as appropriate

  • Support any internal audits, Compliance Monitoring and other reviews as required

  • Taking ownership of complex anti-money laundering matters and complex client cases,  working with regional Compliance and Distribution teams; escalating to EMEA AML Manager as appropriate and conducting officer in charge of AML

  • Taking an active role in relevant industry forums and committees and collaborating with other AML experts to pre-empt and/ or address common challenges to ensure best practice in our approach

  • Ensure all activities are in line with Invesco’s Conduct principles.

What you will be bring:

  • Relevant experience of AML related topics within the Financial Services industry, preferably in asset management

  • Experience of managing regulatory change in both a BAU and project environment,

  • Evidence of relationship management internally and externally required

  • Experience of providing oversight of processes with third party administrators

  • Good understanding on what a great AML process looks like and how to manage this

  • Good understanding of general asset management and oversight processes and linkage of AML to other functions

  • Good understanding of outsourcing AML/KYC oversight requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of current AML regulations and knowledge of future regulatory change

  • Degree or comparable work experience

  • AML qualification would be an advantage
