Software Engineering Associate Expert I

Country: Spain

Mission and responsibilities:

The Technical Lead serves as a primary lead to bridge how Technology works from both a business and a technical perspective to what Business and other partners want to achieve. Teams-up with Technical Product Owners to translate business requirements into technical specifications and closely works with software developers and QA analysts to develop logical technical processes, end-to-end software, release code and solve issues.

The main tasks of this position will be the following:

  • Ownership E2E of multicountry payments processes from a technical perspective, with a deep knowledge of all the processes and their interactions with other areas and 3rd parties
  • Designing Core solutions and 3rd party integrations for payments processes
  • Point of contact with Architecture, Security and development areas, as well as with 3rd party vendors, being able to explain the technical needs of the Payments area to them.
  • Configuration of the Payment Hub for those processes not requiring development
  • Proactivity in the change to an architecture based in microservices.
  • Refinement of user stories, being able to close the gap between the functional team and the development team providing the technical details required to start development and at the same time adding the non functional requirements (security, performance, connectivity, etc.)
  • Support to Country/Projects POs in the bugs analysis regarding integration, connectivy, etc.

To be successful in the role you must have

  • Studies related with Computer Science, Information Systems, or Telecommunications.
  • 3+ years of relevant technical or business work experience in banking domains.
  • Hands-on experience working on Java / J2EE technologies and distributed application environments (+3 years minimum), delivering and implementing large solutions at scale, preferably in a banking environment.
  • Experience working on cloud environments (1-2 years), preferred AWS.
  • Demostrable functional and technical knowledge on payment schemes (from Spain (SEPA, Iberpay, Bizum) and (nice-to-have) other countries in Europe (UK (Faster Payments, ACH)), LATAM (Argentina, Peru), Mexico, US (ACH, Wires)): domestic transfers, international payments (SWIFT), instant payments.
  • Relevant knowledge in payment services: transfers, direct debits, check processing.
  • Experience in digital banking environments and projects, whether from a core banking, or a front-end perspective, will be highly valued. The candidate must understand the specific needs a digital bank has from a high-availability, performance and online stand-point.
  • Experience in Temenos T24 will be considered a plus.
  • English is a must. Spanish is desirable.
