PetPlace, a subsidiary of IPH, is building a digital first pet e-commerce platform with the aim of connecting key market services such as adoption, lost pet and insurance to make pet care easy.
Job Summary:
PetPlace is seeking a Senior UX Designer who will report to the Manager of User Experience. This role is essential in delivering intuitive, engaging, and user-centered digital experiences. The Senior UX Designer will conduct primary user research, lead UX design efforts, and create wireframes, prototypes, and design specifications to support PetPlace's growing suite of digital products.
The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience in UX design, a strong portfolio of user-centered design solutions, and a passion for turning user insights into exceptional product experiences.
Job Location: Remote – New York, Chicago, Cleveland, Akron, Dallas
Main Responsibilities:
- User Research: Plan and conduct user interviews, usability tests, and other research methods to uncover user needs and validate design solutions.
- UX Design & Wireframing: Create wireframes, low- and high-fidelity mockups, and detailed user flows that guide product development.
- Prototyping: Build interactive prototypes to communicate design intent and test usability with stakeholders and users.
- Design Systems & Specifications: Ensure consistency by adhering to brand and design system standards and documenting components and patterns.
- Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to align design solutions with business goals and technical feasibility.
- Feedback Integration: Iterate on designs based on user research, stakeholder feedback, and data-driven insights.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in user experience design.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking, wireframing, prototyping, and research.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, and InVision.
- Experience conducting user research and usability testing.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in e-commerce, pet services, or health-related digital platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility best practices.
- Working knowledge of Agile development environments.
