Job description

I. Description of Work

Global Health Visions (GHV) is actively seeking a dynamic and self-motivated senior associate with a passion for global health and development. The senior associate will be responsible for providing cross-cutting support to the GHV team across various global health portfolios and projects, as well as supporting GHV’s leadership team with high-visibility strategic and operational initiatives across the organization.

This position is a critically important and deeply collaborative position within GHV, providing valuable business-minded, strategic, and operational guidance for numerous initiatives, offering creativity and fresh thinking for new concepts, and driving forward special projects. These contributions will play a pivotal role in not only improving the ability of GHV to function optimally internally, but also shaping the outcomes delivered to GHV clients across a diverse spectrum of global health and development issue areas.

This position requires an individual who is comfortable (1) working directly with senior leadership to conduct project management and operational support for key initiatives informed by strategic thinking, (2) offering original and creative ideas that enhance the quality, look, and impact of work products such as PowerPoint decks for clients and for internal processes/communication, and (3) driving concepts to a deliverable stage across a wide array of global health and development areas. Successful candidates will have experience building strong relationships with team members to understand, synthesize, and drive internal and client work forward. This role requires resourcefulness, an ability to take initiative, and keep projects moving forward even if all information needed is not available.  

This is an exciting opportunity to jump into GHV’s work, gain a deeper understanding of specific global health and development issues, and hone broad strategy, operations, and project management skillsets while working on high-visibility projects with GHV leaders.

  • Strategy, operations, or business experience that yields a keen ability to problem-solve, think critically, and execute work across a variety of functional areas,
  • Working experience and interest in global health and development,
  • A history of partnering directly with senior leaders,
  • A strong growth mindset,
  • Flexibility to shift between topic areas (sometimes daily),
  • Ability to develop visually appealing communication materials based on quickly conveyed information, and
  • Past project management experience

Specific components of the work may include:

  • Strategy and Operations
  • Working with GHV leadership to drive forward elements of GHV’s 2021-2025 strategy and operational plan across a variety of focus areas, including business development strategies and project management across various portfolios of work.
  • Contributing to business development efforts and partner/client diversification strategies.
  • Demonstrate a keen business mindset to help enhance operational efficiency internally by suggesting and executing improvements in operations, tools and technologies, and project work
  • Project Execution
  • Developing strategic PowerPoint decks tailored to different audiences, with a keen sense of how to use visuals and design elements to communicate ideas
  • Generating insightful reports and presentations, particularly in PowerPoint
  • Contribute to research and analysis on a broad range of topics across global health to inform and guide the approach to key projects and deliverables
  • Conducting in-depth desk research on global health issues and policies
  • Analyzing and synthesizing key findings/learnings to inform strategy development, strategic recommendations, and project execution
  • Adapting communications materials and making complex concepts actionable for different, specific audiences
  • Project Management

Supporting the GHV team(s) in the development and execution of key projects and interventions for clients, by:

  • Supporting the creation and maintenance of workplans and dashboard of key priorities
  • Supporting effective meetings by developing relevant agendas, project PowerPoint decks and documents
  • Ensuring important information and knowledge is conveyed clearly and effectively
  • Attending meetings, drafting notes, and ensuring action items move forward
  • Tracking progress towards the achievement of the strategic objectives
  • Liaising with other team members/teams to gather status updates, identify dependencies, and look for collaboration opportunities

Background

  • A bachelor’s degree in business consulting, public health, international development, non-profit management or related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years related professional work experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience in global health and development, such as women’s health, infectious diseases, global health financing, economic empowerment, gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights, agriculture/nutrition/climate, water, sanitation and hygiene (WSH), political participation, etc.
  • Some experience with policy, advocacy, and communications for global health and development.

Technical Skills

  • Experience in executing strategic and operational initiatives for dynamic companies.
  • Ability to work quickly and deliver projects under short deadlines, developing an outstanding product for the client that exceeds expectations and requires little to no modification.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance. Must be highly organized, resourceful, self-motivated, detail- and deadline-oriented, flexible in approach and process, and adept at multi-tasking and prioritizing. Must be willing and able to take ownership of and manage a project.
  • Strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required, as well as a command of virtual conferencing and collaboration tools.
  • Experience with or interest in using artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance workplace productivity.
  • A history of working collaboratively with leaders to provide new ideas and robust project management support.
  • Demonstrated research and critical analysis skills and the ability to identify new questions and develop innovative ideas to guide client strategies and decisions.
  • Exceptional writing and communication (written and spoken) skills; ability to provide concise analysis/summary/visual representation (e.g., in PowerPoint) of complex topics; ability to adapt communications for different, specific audiences.

III. Time Requirement and Location

  • Full-time role: 35-40 hours per week
  • Start date – Aug/Sept 2025
  • This role will work from their own location/remotely. The Senior Associate must be available during client business hours (EST and PST)
  • The daily rate for this position ranges from USD $400-$450, depending on the candidate's level of expertise.
