Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer

About the Role:

 

VerTALENTS is seeking a Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer who thrives in hybrid environments and is ready to architect scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions across cloud-native platforms. If you're passionate about DevOps, automation, and building systems that scale with compliance at their core, we want to hear from you.

 

Responsabilities:

 

  • Lead the design and deployment of AWS-based infrastructure, ensuring best practices for security, networking, automation, and cost optimization.
  • Architect and maintain hybrid systems (Linux, Windows, Active Directory, Microsoft 365).
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using TerraformAWS CDK, or Ansible.
  • Build robust CI/CD pipelines leveraging tools like Azure DevOpsGitHub ActionsArgo CD, or Jenkins.
  • Design and manage containerized applications using DockerKubernetes (EKS), and service meshes like Istio or Linkerd.
  • Drive microservices enablement using ECS/FargateEKS, and Helm.
  • Champion a security-first DevOps approach, enforcing IAM best practices, encryption, and compliance automation.
  • Design secure cloud networking (VPC, NAT, transit gateways, DNS, etc.).
  • Support compliance with PCI-DSSFedRAMP, and internal standards using automated audits and policies.
  • Lead incident analysis, system tuning, and high-availability infrastructure design.
  • Deploy AI/ML cloud infrastructure (e.g., SageMakerBedrockOpenAI) for model training, testing, and inference.
  • Mentor fellow engineers and advocate for best DevOps practices across teams.

 

What You Bring:

 

  • 5+ years in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Infrastructure Architecture roles.
  • Expert-level knowledge of AWS (EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, GuardDuty, etc.).
  • Strong background in both Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Solid scripting/automation skills in PowerShellPythonBash, or Go.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes (EKS)Docker, and microservices architectures.
  • Advanced understanding of cloud networking (subnets, route tables, VPNs, Direct Connect).
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Azure AD, and Intune.
  • Deep expertise in cloud security, threat modeling, and compliance (PCI-DSS, FedRAMP, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
  • Proficiency in monitoring/logging tools like CloudWatchDatadogPrometheusELKGrafana.

 

Nice to Have Certifications:

 

  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional
  • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • CKA or CKAD (Certified Kubernetes Administrator/Developer)
  • CISSP or other security certifications
