We seek an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in a full-time role at our Pomona, California office. The primary responsibility of this position will be conducting and leading field inspections, complemented by office-based civil and structural engineering tasks. Additionally, this role involves initiating and maintaining Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) and overseeing hat work is safely performed by field technicians.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead field inspections of power transmission structures to ensure compliance with industry standards and company specifications.
  • Create Job Hazard Assessments (JHAs) to identify and mitigate potential risks in the field.
  • Oversee work execution of field technicians, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
  • Provide engineering support for civil and structural infrastructure related to power transmission systems.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on structural analysis and design tasks.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and company practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • EIT/FE certification is required or must be attained within one (1) year from start of employment.
  • Demonstrated interest or coursework in power delivery, transmission systems, or related fields.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Clean driving record and willingness to travel within large utility service territories; some overnight stays may be required.
  • Must be capable and willing to work independently and as part of a team, taking the initiative for proactive problem-solving.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with relevant engineering software such as PLS Applications, AutoCAD, RISA-3D, FAD Tools, Ensoft products, Mathcad, or similar tools.
  • Knowledge of power industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Annual Salary Range:

$71,093.27 - $96,724.58

The expected compensation is a range determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, and qualifications of the candidate, internal equity, work location, and hiring department’s fiscal resources.
