Job description

The Opportunity:

Under broad supervision, provide advice and support on a range of products using their technical resources along with sales skills. May assist in preparing product documentation. Demonstrate how to use new products and/or services. May provide assistance and training to entry/intermediate associates.

POSITION PROFILE (Basic Purpose of the Position)
Product sales specialist for Capital equipment.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities (List in order of importance)

Towards customers
Should towards customers always act as a representative of VWR in total and put VWR interest first regardless of who or what is being discussed. “We are VWR”.
Understanding customer needs and developing new business opportunities
Perform qualified need assessments through customer visits or according to customer requirements reg. technical specifications, installation/training requirements and user interface.
Drive sales process by demonstration at customer site alt. manufacturer site to ensure acceptance of technology benefits and needs.
Ensure that our quotations follow company regulation reg. pricing, content and conditions.
Ensure quotations are submitted according to customer expectations of time frame.
Ensure pro-active customer follow-up on submitted quotations.
Ensure we understand customer requirements reg. service and support and that we communicate prices and offers for all suitable enhanced services that supports the products.
Comply to customer’s visiting requirements prior to and/or at entry of customer facility.
Use our customer complaint function to secure full documentation of each product related complaint.

Towards products
A general understanding of VWR assortment.
A specialist understanding of products related to the business area.
Ensure that the company is updated on any product quality issues by reporting warranty issues to manager.
Ensure all sales technical documents are current according to manufacturers’ current recommendations.
Attend all relevant product trainings in-house and externally where ever suitable.

Towards market
Report all major actions from competitors that may affect our sales tactics.
Qualified need assessments according to customer requirements reg. Technical specifications, installation/training requirements and user interface.

Towards company
Ensure compliance with VWR’s vision, mission and values.
Ensure compliance with VWR’s strategy, policies and objectives.
Ensure compliance with relevant local and international legislation around Sales.
Ensure compliance with Integrated Management System (IMS) and CRS.
Participates in regular in-house training and sales meetings.
Ensure development of competencies and procedures in order to maintain an updated and smooth business acumen.
Ensure daily work fulfills all company documentation and processes.
Ensure customer price with maximum profitability for VWR
Product specialists shall cooporate with other teams within VWR to deliver the best solution ot the customer.
Product specialists shall communicate crucial information regarding customers to other functions within VWR as well as act on information given from other functions.
Update the CRM system with information in accordance with the given process.
Follow up on leads generated in Cention or 0365 and othervice with product support and sales according to VWR sale process
Making a regular planning for customer visits in accordance to overall time plannig including response to incoming leads.
Working through complaint handling for all customer complaints for full documentation.

Authorization in accordance with current DoA.

Qualifications (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
Prior experience of B2B sales and/or services for capital equipment.
Prior experience of equipment and instruments in laboratory environment.
or trained chemical engineer min. Bsc. Degree.
or trained in sales (eg. IHM Business School).
Prior experience of travelling on duty with overnights is required.
Driving license is required.

Aibility to work with complex technical soltions in combination with commercially complex quotations.
Planning actions and ensure fulfilment of own IOP objectives –with strong product related sales/cost.
Ability to gather data, evaluate and implement appropriate actions, review and taking corrective actions in timely manner to meet objectives.
Building effective internal relationships to increase interaction, transparency and efficiency over multi functional teams.
Optimizing procedures to ensure efficient use of time and resources to ensure maximum own time on customer sites/customer visits.
Working on selling our total offer of equipment/instrument together with enhanced service offers.
Focusing on long term profitable growth of customer relationship.
