The Gig… 

As a Laser Operator - 2nd Shift,  your primary responsibility is to set up, operate, and maintain a laser cutting machine to cut, engrave, and shape various metal parts according to specifications, in a manufacturing environment. This includes tasks like selecting the correct machine settings, loading programs, diagnosing and resolving issues with the machine or materials, and maintaining records of production. You must have strong mechanical and technical skills, as well as a good eye for detail, in order to accurately operate the machine to achieve the desired results and effectively inspect the finished parts for accuracy ensuring they meet specifications.

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate laser cutting machine according to specifications and blueprints.

• Monitor laser machines during operation

• Adjust laser speed and intensity to achieve the desired result

• Maintain and troubleshoot laser equipment

• Monitor the quality of parts produced to ensure they meet industry standards

• Maintain accurate records of the production and operation of the machines

• Handle/Move/Store material before and after cutting

• Able to read technical drawings and blueprints

•  Able to check and measure the accuracy of components

•  Able to work accurately and pay attention to detail

•  Able to work to tight deadlines

•  Comply with all applicable OHSA, ESA, and other provincial regulatory laws, as well as company safety policies

• Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Management teams.
• Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time

Job Duties: 

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in laser cutting required

• Ability to operate and maintain laser cutting machinery

• Familiarity with health and safety protocols

• Must be able to work in a Team environment

• Must have good communication skills

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• Ability to work assigned hours plus overtime as needed

Physical Requirements:  

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
