Location: Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (CCHCF) and Tsaile Health Center.


Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. (no flex time, no call backs, Federal Holidays excluded)

Duration: 5 weeks to 3 years (short-term, long-term, or intermittent)

Summary:
Seeking a Board-Certified Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient psychiatric services at CCHCF and Tsaile Health Center. Services include patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, medication management, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams. The position requires experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform psychiatric evaluations and develop treatment plans

  • Provide outpatient and inpatient psychiatric care

  • Deliver psychopharmacology and psychotherapy services

  • Manage psychiatric crises and consult on complex cases

  • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other staff

  • Utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for documentation

  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives and peer review

  • Culturally sensitive care respectful of Navajo traditions and customs

Qualifications:

  • Completion of 36-month Psychiatry Residency

  • Board Certified by ABPN or AOBP; Child & Adolescent Certification preferred

  • Unrestricted license to practice in any U.S. state or territory

  • Active DEA registration (Schedules II–V)

  • Current CPR/BLS Certification

  • Minimum 6 months post-residency experience

  • Familiarity with HIPAA, Privacy Act, and federal health standards

  • Fitness for Duty Certification
