Job Description

We have an excellent opportunity for a People Advisor to join us on a 12-month cover, supporting the Business & Commercial Banking division. You’ll work closely with the Heads of People and People Partners to provide people support across a variety of business areas—offering a unique chance to deepen your understanding of different commercial challenges and strategic priorities.

A day in the life of a People Advisor is fast paced and constantly evolving. As an integral part of the team, you’ll be involved in all aspects of the colleague lifecycle, working with our Centres of Excellence and business teams across topics such as strategic workforce planning, recruitment, culture, organisation design, talent management, reward, learning & development, people risk, and more.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build trusted relationships with business leaders and colleagues, acting as an ambassador for behavioural and cultural change.
  • Cultural Transformation: Drive inclusion and diversity, embed a strong risk culture, and support the evolution of our ways of working.
  • Data-Driven Insight: Use people-related data and MI to shape people solutions and proactive interventions.
  • People Support: Provide sound judgement and guidance on HR policies and procedures, ensuring fairness and alignment with our values.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Lead divisional initiatives, support business change, and anticipate future people-related risks.
  • Cyclical Processes: Support delivery of Group-wide processes such as Pay and GPS.
  • People Products Interface: Act as a connector between the business and our People Products—resourcing, talent, learning, and more.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong HR policy and procedural knowledge
  • Ability to build trusted, honest relationships and act as the voice of the colleague
  • Confidence using people data and insight to drive action
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to anticipate future people risks
  • Experience leading initiatives and collaborating across Centres of Excellence
  • Ruthless prioritisation to spend time on the things which make the most impact

Why Join Us?

We’re committed to building an inclusive organisation that reflects modern society and celebrates diversity in all its forms. We were among the first to set diversity ambitions in senior roles, launch a menopause health package, and introduce a Working with Cancer initiative. We’re also proud to be a Disability Confident Leader.  If you need adjustments to the recruitment process, we’re here to support you.

Benefits Package

  • Up to 15% pension contribution
  • Annual performance-related bonus
  • Share schemes including free shares
  • Lifestyle benefits including discounted shopping
  • 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Wellbeing initiatives and generous parental leave policies
