Job description

Role Purpose

We have an exciting opportunity to bring on board an intern to support our Business Intelligence team across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As part of the role you will participate in the investigation, evaluation and interpretation of open source and human intelligence information and contribute to the production of well-written reports to serve a range of intelligence requirements for our clients. You will be a critical thinker with an interest in business transactions and operations. We anticipate the internship to be for a period of 6 months. The role will be based in London although we may consider other EMEA locations where Control Risks has offices.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality research to support on a range of business intelligence projects including due diligence, strategic intelligence, ESG due diligence, market entry studies, as well as other problem-solving investigations.
  • Support the team on business development initiatives such as pre-meeting preparatory and scoping research, subject matter briefings, and marketing material including case studies.
  • Support the team’s knowledge management initiatives, including the identification of new tools and information sources to strengthen research capabilities.

Requirements

  • Education to Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Applications from undergraduates in the final year(s) of their programme are also welcome.
  • Professional fluency and strong writing abilities in English; professional fluency in two additional languages from the following list: Arabic, Urdu and European languages – primarily Estonian, French, Latvian, Polish, Romanian, Russian and Ukrainian
  • Demonstrable interest in global and current affairs, EMEA’s commercial environment, as well as topics relating to corruption and fraud.
  • Previous exposure to intelligence and risk consulting-related research is advantageous.
  • Ability to work in a team and independently.
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the UK for six months.
