Job description





A fast-growing, innovative fintech company is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to lead and scale its Group Tax function across Europe. Backed by 800+ employees and operating in 4 countries, this payments leader offers end-to-end solutions that simplify payment management for merchants – from processing and analytics to risk management.

As the lead tax expert, you'll take ownership of all tax matters, define strategy, and build a best-in-class tax setup in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment. This is a high-impact leadership role, reporting directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the group’s tax operations across Germany and Europe
  • Build and manage the internal tax team and oversee all tax projects and priorities
  • Ensure full compliance with local tax regulations (DEU, LUX, DKK, AUT)
  • Develop and enhance intercompany charging models and transfer pricing strategy
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tax authorities and external advisors
  • Streamline processes and implement scalable tools to support growth
  • Drive strategic tax projects independently and proactively



Requirements


  • Fully qualified tax professional with leadership experience
  • Background in scale-up or fintech environments and top-tier tax advisory firms
  • Strong command of European tax law, IFRS, and HGB
  • Fluent in English and German; experience working across multiple jurisdictions
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented mindset and a passion for building
  • Able to manage high workloads and stay focused on strategic outcomes

Nice to Have

  • Experience in a PE-backed company
  • Exposure to M&A and regulatory environments
  • Strong stakeholder communication and influencing skills
