Content Moderator I (General Moderation)
The content moderator role keeps our community safe by removing harmful content – this content could be reported to us by users or flagged proactively. Content moderators develop a deep understanding of policies in order to understand what is and isn’t permissible. Moderation takes place across multiple asset types, including video, audio and text. Moderators can deeply engage in repetitive review tasks when needed and also provide important feedback on trends they observe during the course of this work.
 

Responsibilities
● Review reports of different assets like videos, audio and text to ensure they adhere to content moderation policies
● Keep up to date with policy and procedural changes
● Provide feedback on moderator tooling and content policies
● Review and respond to appeals for moderation decisions using macros
● Properly escalate content and appeals that may need specialist review
● Participate in team meetings and work in a group setting

Preferred Experience/Skills
● Previous experience in content moderation and/or customer service
● Strong verbal and written communication
● Familiarity with media and gaming trends (e.g. memes)
● Self-awareness regarding personal bias and wellness
● Interest in helping create safe spaces and communities online
● Eye for detail and efficiency
● Comfortable with potentially repetitive tasks
● Ability to quicky learn and adapt to new policies and procedures
● Reliable team member/enjoys contributing to a larger team initiative

Technical skills and qualifications:
● Computer literate and proficient in the use of Windows OS, Apple OS, Microsoft Office, and Google applications
● Familiar with customer support software, including Zendesk, Slack, and internal troubleshooting tools to resolve issues
● Excellent in the English language, as well as reading and writing in English
● Must be at least a high school graduate

● Must have at least 1 year BPO experience

● Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
● Great communication skills, written and oral
● Must be adaptable and flexible, demonstrating abilities to work with process and information changes
● Empathic toward customers and can maintain a customer-centric approach
● Team player: acts as a key participant within the internal team and broader company by taking part in department initiatives, providing feedback/updates, promoting collaborative solutions, and supporting colleagues/departments
● Open to feedback, eager to learn, and can show improvement
