Job Description:

Come join the team at Cornhusker State Industries (CSI)! We provide workforce training and development to nearly 500 incarcerated men and women. CSI is a financially self-supported program of the Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS). We are looking for a candidate who is versed in manufacturing, has the ability to effectively supervise, and can meet deadlines.

DUTIES:

• Oversee and coordinate operations across multiple statewide production shops to meet delivery deadlines, managing staff (including inmates) remotely or on-site.
• Plan schedules, assignments, and production sequences while providing customer updates and contributing to budget development.
• Enforce safety regulations and manage all aspects of staff supervision, including hiring, training, discipline, and performance.
• Implement and track preventative maintenance, analyze data to improve productivity and reduce costs.
• Coordinate with other departments and custody staff to ensure smooth operations and security compliance.
• Maintain quality control, interpret technical documents, and prepare production reports.
• Manage the movement of goods and supervise shops as needed to cover absences.

 

Requirements / Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in business, manufacturing or related field plus 2-3 years’ experience in manufacturing/production shop management & quality control OR 5-7 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with staff supervision, Enterprise One and Microsoft programs.

Other: Must have a valid driver's license. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly unannounced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
