Administrative Responsibilities 

 Medical assistants are responsible for performing a range of administrative tasks, including:


· Maintaining communication to confirm appointments

· Documenting patients' medical information, including medical history 

· Performing data entry tasks to document patient records within facility databases and maintaining patient files.

· Health Assessments

  

Clinical Responsibilities

Medical assistants may be responsible for performing a variety of clinical tasks, depending on the size and needs of their workplace. Some common clinical tasks will include:


· Recording patients' vital signs, documenting physicians' notes and changes in medical conditions.

· Monitoring and documenting patient symptoms for physicians' review prior to telemedicine visits.

· Providing compassionate patient support and care, attention, and assistance during home visits.


Skills

· Organize, Schedule, and Follow-Up on Appointments

· Proficient in MS Office and Patient Management Software

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· EMR


Education, License, and Certifications
