Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Product Development & PLM Assistant to join our dynamic Childrenswear Apparel team. This role combines responsibilities in product development, requiring a strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and industry standards. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring product quality and timely delivery while managing the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) process and facilitating effective communication with factories


Responsibilities

PLM Management

  • Open and track styles in the PLM system, maintaining accurate records for all product lines.
  • Document and manage fabric, trim, and color specifications in the system.

Communication with Factories

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for factories, addressing comments and inquiries.
  • Submit comments, track responses, and follow up to ensure timely resolutions.

Sample Coordination

  • Manage lap dips, strike-offs, and sample approvals, ensuring adherence to timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to gather and provide feedback on samples.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with design, merchandising, and production teams to ensure alignment throughout the product development process.
  • Participate in meetings to communicate project updates and gather stakeholder feedback.

Market Research & Quality Assurance

  • Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in product development and tech pack creation.
  • Ensure consistency and compliance in all technical documentation, aligning with manufacturing guidelines.
Requirements
  •  Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in tech pack creation and/or product development in the apparel industry.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, PLM systems, Photoshop, and CAD.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, patterns, and fabrics.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with fitting sessions, garment sampling processes, and sustainability practices is a plus.
  • An eye for print, scale, and color.

Hybrid Work Schedule

4 days a week in the office, Friday work from home


New York Pay Rate $21.50 - $25.00 per hour
