Job description

Position Details: Full Time, Permanent 
Starting Salary: $67,100 (based on a 35-hour work week and commensurate with individual education and experience, as it relates to the position).
Location: Remote or hybrid in any DUC office across Canada
Closing Deadline: July 11, 2025 (11:59 PM EST)

What You Will Do

  • Key liaison responsible for the administration of large national annual and multi-year grants
  • Responsible for annual budget allocation of large/national grant revenues to provincial budgets, working with finance leads to ensure they have incorporated into their budgets appropriately
  • Lead re-balancing of annual budgetary amounts that may be required in-year to optimize utilization of various grants across the regions
  • Identify optimal opportunities to match revenue from fundraising & market development 
  • Work with finance leadership and regional business units to collect and analyze information related to conservation programs and funding
  • Support finance leaders in maintaining external funding partnerships, including preparing proposals, proposal modifications and supporting funding negotiations
  • Supports internal and external audits (national and provincial) – may act as a key liaison ensuring the necessary reporting, working papers, and analysis are maintained
  • Aid with grant matching reconciliations and grant tracking against cash flows and provincial allocations 
  • Track, settle and reconcile customer accounts associated with regional &/or national grants (such as DUI, ECCC, USFWS, etc)
  • Gather data and update grant revenue tracking files for all joint ventures (e.g. NAWCA) – dollars and acres
  • Provide and collate data for US Federal admin fee negotiations (NICRA process) under the direction of the Manager, Revenue, Land & Infrastructure Admin.
  • Prepare and maintain process documentation and training materials to support the efficient and effective reporting and tracking revenue and multi-year conservation grants.  
  • Design new processes to maximize efficiencies, data quality and controls as related to project execution, project funding or as assigned
  • Ensure finance policy and procedures and system approval processes are relevant existing grant revenue obligations and help monitor for compliance of deadlines

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or Business/Commerce
  • A minimum of 5 years of practical and analytical experience in Finance or related areas
  • A CPA designation is required
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting rules
  • Computer Science skills will be considered an asset
  • Dynamics 365/Power BI/Salesforce, Microsoft 365 experience.
  • Project management experience
  • Change management experience
  • Strong analytical skills and high proficiency in mathematics
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability in financial/business analysis, financial reporting and related controls
  • Must be detail oriented individual with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet deadlines 
  • Ability to foresee and flag issues where there is potential for funding shortfalls, and/or under & overmatch scenarios
