Position Summary
The Safety Director collaborates with leadership, employees, outside risk consultants, and other stakeholders to establish and achieve the Company’s safety objectives, eliminate the risk of injury and property damage as well as ensure regulatory requirement compliance. A successful candidate will build ongoing preventative safety measures and utilize influence and training to ensure all leadership are working towards the desired Company-safety behaviors. This role is critical to ensure proper safety training is available, ensure work hazard assessments are conducted, and provide/sustain effective policies and procedures for the organization to create and maintain a safe work environment. This position will also create and communicate relevant metrics to the Executive safety committee and leadership.

Job Setting & Physical Demands
Employees in this position work primarily indoors but may be required to ambulate between locations within a large outdoor environment. The role is largely sedentary, however some administrative duties such as filing are quired. This would require the ability to lift files, open cabinets, bend or stand as necessary. To perform the job successfully the candidate must be able to use a computer and other standard office equipment such as phones, copiers, fax machines, etc. Fluency in the English language and the ability to see, speak, hear, read, and write are required. The ability to travel by all means of transportation to meet business needs is required, such as a cart around the facility. Work hours may fluctuate to accommodate seasonal work requirements and occasional support and training for evening and/or weekend shift employees. Ability to commute between locations as needed is required.
Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted is required, up to 50 pounds with assistance.
