Job Responsibilities:
1) Wheel Testing
Roval wheel development test and day to day running.
1. Coordinate testing requirements with the development team including test request setup, required fixtures and procedures.
2. Perform daily testing including setup, tear down and report writing documenting all results and failure locations.
3. Report to the team about the test results. If the test fails, report the analysis report to the team as well.
4. Ensure that all machines receive proper maintenance to obtain reliable test results and ensure the machine life is maximized.
5. Work with SBC labs and Roval team to determine the development of any new tests or test fixtures required to be performed at other testing locations.
6. Educate supplier’s lab in other departments as required about test standards, results, and logic behind the tests.
7. Ensure appropriate and careful setting up the test sample, make sure all steps follow WI.
8. Support the samples root cause analysis and create a further plan.
9. Manage an inventory of parts before and after testing.
2) Inspection
1. Inspect the wheel, rim. Spoke and hubs samples prior to lab and field testing.
3) Development involves.
1. Assist in optimizing the current test and developing new test.
2. Regular support to audit the supplier, ensure test accuracy and expedite testing.
3. Participate in weekly meetings with Engineering and Product Management.
4. Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, design, and test engineers to validate innovative wheels which inspire cyclists & lead the industry.
What You'll Need To Win:
• College degree in technical subjects (B.S. in engineering or manufacturing).
• Skilled in assembly, tensioning, and truing a bicycle wheel.
• Ability to assemble and maintain all parts of a modern bicycle.
• Familiarity with part inspection including basic handheld inspection tools caliper and tensile gauge for first article inspection. You will need to be able to inspect the wheel to make sure they meet design intend.
• Communication in English, Mandarin Chinese verbal and English written is required.
• Ability to make decisions and recommendations regarding function, fit, and finish of components.
• Ability to perform job responsibilities with limited supervision.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel. With an ability to learn STARLIMS & AGILE software.
• Avid cyclists and good bike mechanics preferred.
• Proven ability to work within a team environment and promote a positive work environment.
• Ideally able to travel internationally.
Summary:
The successful candidate will have a background mechanical, knowledge of bike wheel and enjoy hands-on work. As a Technician you will support the Roval wheel team measurement and structure tests to help evaluate if all design criteria are met before production approval. They will also assist in the development of future tests, evaluation of tested components and the evaluation of any non-conformities discovered in testing. As a member of a small team, you will be expected to ‘wear many hats’ as we work together to develop industry-leading bikes!
