Key Position Details:

**Candidate must live within commuting distance of Minneapolis, MN**
  • 1.0 FTE (80-hours per 2-week pay period)
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • No weekends

Job Description:

Ensures compliance with the MN Hospital Screening Bill. Responsible to process the Hospital Presumptive Eligibility applications and complete affidavit of expert review prior to referral of debt to a collection agency, law firm or any legal collection action.

Principle Responsibilities

  • Application Review
    • Reviews Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) applications.
    • Completes HPE approval process.
  • Accuracy Review and Information Facilitation
    • Reviews information for accuracy.
    • Provides accurate information to the patient, third-parties (inclusive of law firms and collection agencies).
  • Account Review
    • Reviews and analyzes account activity and payers explanations of benefits (EOB).
    • Verifies payments and adjustments are received and applied accurately.
    • Ensures self-pay collection process is completed appropriately.
  • Expert Review
    • Completes expert review prior to account referral to a collection agency or law firm.
    • Completes expert review prior to legal actions.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 2+ years of revenue cycle or healthcare insurance experience


Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of customer service or medical collections experience

Pay Range

Pay Range: $22.71 to $31.13 per hour

The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
