Position Purpose:
The Assistant Manager - Human Resources is responsible in supporting our HR operations with a primary focus on leave management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring effective and compliant administration of leave policies such as FMLA, FYML, ADA and PWFA and supporting related benefit processes.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Principle Accountabilities (Key Result Areas)

  • Support the HR Manager in policy development and communication regarding leave and attendance.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the HR functions and duties.
  • Provide guidance to employees on leave policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date leave records in the HRIS system.
  • Process leave requests and ensure timely communication between employees and managers.
  • Provide employees with relevant benefit information while on approved leave - such as short-term disability, and/or payments for benefit premiums. 
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data (absences, leaves, etc.)
  • Properly handle complaints and grievance procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

Knowledge

  • Proven experience as an HR assistant, staff assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • 2–4 years of experience in HR operations, preferably with direct experience in leave management.
  • 1-2 years of US Leave experience specifically – FMLA, PWFA, ADA.
  • Previous experience in a multi-location or large workforce environment.
  • PC literacy (MS Office, in particular)
  • Hands on experience with Workday and Service Now preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong communications skills
