Position Overview:

The Collateral Underwriter is responsible for the assessment of all subject collateral originated though the retail platform for conventional loans.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, evaluate, and decision appraisal reports in accordance with all agency and investor guidelines and standards.

  • Complete comprehensive collateral reviews in a timely manner to meet service level expectations.

  • Maintain a pipeline and communicate issues to Appraisers, Processor, and Originators.

  • Remain informed and current on all agency and investor guidelines and updates.

  • Maintain a high level of customer service.

  • Collaborate with the Post Closing Department on any stipulations for closed files.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • 3 years’ mortgage underwriting experience.

  • Experience in collateral underwriting, preferred.

  • Working knowledge of all agency and investor underwriting policies.

  • Excellent prioritization and time management skills.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Advanced analytical skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay Range:

  • Hourly Rate: $36.05-$39.42
  • The posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
