We are now hiring for a full-time Human Resources Partner to join our team to provide HR services to various centers in Chicago and DuPage County!

 SALARY: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $62,000 to $68,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Act as a bridge between the HR function and assigned areas of responsibility, by delivering aligned communication and implementing process deployed from the HR functional areas.
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset by proactively seeking feedback regarding HR processes, delivering feedback to respective process owners, and participating in process review discussions and HR improvement projects.
  • Partner with Supervisors and site/program Leaders to understand current and future needs by regularly participating in program leadership meetings and other activities such as headcount planning, reporting and data analysis to support decision making and staff and employee relation concerns.
  • Understand the assigned program(s) roles, the labor market, and challenges and provide guidance, tools, and strategies to hiring managers pertaining to recruitment
    needs.
  • Provide a positive and consistent onboarding for new hires by ensuring a seamless handover from the recruitment function by equipping new hire with necessary information, instruction, and support. Ensure required paperwork is returned, MFS and program specific background checks are in place and that new hire can start by
    expected start date.
  • Foster employee engagement by representing the HR function at MFS sponsored employee events, being consistently visible to employees on-site, and being
    ambassadors of the MFS mission. 
  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances, providing guidance and resolution in alignment with organizational policies and
    legal requirements.
  • Advise and/or provide guidance to managers on organizational policies, procedures, and legal matters by staying abreast of federal, state and local legislation (i.e. equal employment opportunity, sexual harassment, equal pay and transparency etc.).
  • Address employee complaints or issues, maintaining confidentiality and fairness throughout the process and while ensuring compliance and adherence to policy, procedure, and law.
  • Support and communicate regarding performance evaluation/appraisal processes, assisting managers in setting performance goals, conducting performance reviews, and providing feedback to employees.
  • Work with supervisors to identify opportunities for employee development and training to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Provide support regarding general benefit inquiries administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks, ensuring accurate enrollment, eligibility verification, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records related to personnel actions (by completing PAF/OHS) and uploading all documentation to UKG document manager within established required timeframe.
  • Responsible for completing and submitting employee & employment data for IDES unemployment claims; represents organization in personnel-related hearings and
    investigations.
  • Review and analyze exit interview data and makes recommendations as it relates to corrective action and/or continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership and other stakeholders on and participate in various HR projects and initiatives across all HR functional areas (i.e. diversity and inclusion, employee engagement programs, and organizational culture initiatives).
  • Provide various training to leaders and employees as processes are developed and improvements deployed to centers/programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years HR experience preferably in a nonprofit or social services environment.
  • Working experience with HRIS software and HR data management, recruitment/applicant tracking systems etc.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations, particularly in Illinois.
  • Experience with creating and presenting ideas, thoughts and content to employees of varying levels
  • Experience with HRIS systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust across all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to meet multiple deadlines, reprioritize as necessary and remain productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Satisfactorily pass all relevant screening and criminal background checks.

TRANSPORTATION/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Driving not required. Travel between MFS sites to support on-site hiring activities and attend supervisor meetings is required. Travel to hiring events and job fairs also required.

    • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and stand for sustained periods of time, frequently talk, hear, use hands and fingers to feel, handle, and operate objects or controls, and occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel and crouch. The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, transcribing, and viewing a computer terminal.
