Job description

Airnorth is seeking motivated local applicants for our first ever intake of Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Engineers - Mechanical (B1.1) or Avionics (B2) to join our WA Engineering team based at the Perth Airport.

Activities undertaken during your apprenticeship:

  • Complete training and study of aircraft maintenance and regulatory requirements to progress to an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer
  • Performing aircraft maintenance including the removal and installation of aircraft components
  • Supporting the issue, supply and management of tooling and equipment
  • Assisting with creating and updating work orders
  • Housekeeping of the hangar facility
  • Maintaining a detailed apprenticeship journal

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Completed Aviation studies (advantageous but not essential) 
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and a compliant work environment
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good level of eye and hand coordination skills 
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Pre-Employment assessment:

As part of the selection process applicants will be required to undertake the following checks:

  • Aptitude Testing (Literacy & Numeracy)
  • Drug & Alcohol Testing
  • National Police/Criminal History Check
  • Ability to hold and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
  • Have full working rights in Australia
  • Hold a current driver’s licence 
  • Must have completed Year 10
