Instructor I, Learner Resouces - Writing Center

The target hiring range for this position is $52,000-$59,000.

Position Summary:

The Instructor, Learner Resources is responsible for the development, administration, teaching, and evaluation of learners in the College’s foundational education courses, resource courses, writing center, and math lab. The Instructor, Learner Resources will serve as an academic advisor and mentor/coach for learners to further advance their comprehension of foundational subjects, writing and math, and contribute to learners’ successful advancement through and completion of their program. The Instructor, Learner Resources will be assigned to Foundational Education, resource courses, the Writing Center, the Math Lab, and/or in other areas of learner resources. The instructor, Learner Resources may serve in more than one capacity based on length of course assignment(s).

Role and Responsibilities:
    • Facilitate courses in assigned area.
    • Assist with additional courses in learner resources as needed.
    • Assists in the creation and development of Lab/Center content that supports instructional program and promotes learning.
    • Assists in the creation, development and maintenance of myNightingale.
    • Monitors lab usage and produce lab usage reports on a regular basis.
    • Submits required reports according to published deadlines.
    • Performs reach out to learners in GE or NE courses as assigned.
    • Provides tutoring/academic support for learners as assigned.
    • Monitor learner performance in accordance with course objectives and published schedules.
    • Assist learners with study problems and with evaluating their potential for successful achievement in course or discipline.
    • Maintains accurate attendance and performance records of learners.
    • Participates in the successful implementation of other functional projects as they arise.
    Qualifications and Education Requirements
    • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
    • Demonstrated experience in higher education, preferably online education is strongly preferred.

      All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
