About the Role

The Applications Engineer will be responsible for providing technical support across all three business units: Corporate AV, Government, and Hospitality to channel partners, consultants, and potential users within the AV integration industry. Key responsibilities include front-line phone and remote support, system design and calibration, software and hardware troubleshooting, as well as supporting trade shows and internal product initiatives.

This role demands extensive experience and in-depth knowledge of the organization’s products, policies, and operations. It involves business travel and requires the ability to engage professionally with individuals at all organizational levels, as well as with external partners, distributors, and dealers. Strong communication, presentation, and collaboration skills are essential for success in this position.

What You Will Do

  • Support integrators, consultants, and representatives with system design reviews and recommendations.

  • Provide first-level phone-based application support to integrators, consultants, and end-users.

  • Conduct system programming, tuning, and calibration as per customer requirements.

  • Facilitate technical training sessions for integrators, consultants, and end-users.

  • Support technical setup and configuration during trade shows and events.

  • Gather and relay application insights, use cases, and customer feedback to guide product development.

  • Communicate product-related issues, software bugs, market opportunities, and customer needs to relevant internal teams including Engineering, Marketing, Product Development, Technical Services, and Quality Assurance.

What You Need to Be Successful

  • Proficiency in computer systems, video technologies, audio over IP networking, and DSP technologies (including Gain Structure, AEC, and Telephony).

  • Over 8+ years of experience with practical expertise in Unified Communications platforms including Cisco, Avaya, and Polycom. Solid background in networking.

  • Familiarity with third-party control systems like AMX and Crestron.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Self-motivated, creative, and eager to learn quickly.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership and sound decision-making within scope of responsibility.

Bonus Points if You Have  

  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA preferred.

  • Networking certifications in the IT domain such as CCNA or CCDA.

  • AV industry credentials like CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D.

  • Proficiency in acoustic simulation tools such as AutoCAD, EASE, EASE Address, and/or EASE Focus.

  • Be willing to travel up to 60%, including domestic travel.
