The Opportunity

As a MariaDB Technical Support Engineer, you directly interact with our customers each day. You directly help their business, users and customers to succeed and grow.

Our customers utilize MariaDB Server, MaxScale, ColumnStore, Galera Cluster, and Client Connectors among other emerging technologies that we provide. Their servers run Mariadb software on premises, in the cloud, in virtual machines and on physical servers.

Our goal is to provide the very best support experience to each of our customers, and we achieve that by hiring and training the best candidates.

Responsibilities

As a MariaDB Technical Support Engineer you are vital to a customers’ success in this challenging, complex and ever-changing technology landscape. You are expected to deliver expert-level technical support services to worldwide customers, across our portfolio of supported products. 

Support services range from software usage and best practices to service restoration and performance tuning. You will utilize advanced troubleshooting skills and creative problem-solving capabilities. You must be self-motivated, eager to learn, and capable of working autonomously.

We must provide coverage to our customers 24x7x365, and thus this position occasionally involves working on nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

Bonus Experience and Skills

  • Prior MariaDB, Percona or MySQL experience
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages 
  • Sysadmin experience
  • Certification on any RDBMS database system
  • Github or Gitlab contributions
  • Experience with virtualization software or containers
  • Experience with server monitoring software
  • Knowledge of database design
  • Knowledge of high availability environments and technologies
