Job description

Director of Content & Communications

Who we are

Jellyvision’s ALEX®, is on a mission to improve lives by helping people choose and use their benefits. We are raising the bar—for benefits and the employee experience (for our employees and those of the customers we serve) – by scaling personalization, compassion and an earnest intent to be helpful in all that we do.

Jellyvision people are a group of creative problem solvers who use good judgment, give each other honest feedback, engage in real debate, and snack frequently. We are curious, hungry, and humble—because we know this is how we’ll continue to make an impact. We’re kind, biased towards action, and sweat the details to create great experiences for those we serve.

We are an inclusive, human-first workplace. Respect and trust for each other are foundational, and our equitable total rewards offerings support the lives and holistic well-being of our unique people. At Jellyvision, expect career experiences that challenge you, empower you to have a direct impact on our mission, and enable you to learn, try, and do while having fun along the way.

What’s the role?

We’re investing in a new era of go-to-market: one built on clarity, confidence, and campaign discipline.

To support that, we’re hiring a Director of Content & Communications to lead the charge on our messaging strategy, content execution, and narrative consistency across channels. This isn’t a “keep the blog warm” kind of role—it’s about developing a strategic point of view, turning positioning into programs, and empowering the team to execute with clarity and cohesion.

You’ll be the steward of our messaging framework, the orchestrator of our campaign calendar, and the connective tissue between product marketing, demand gen, and creative. And yes, you’ll have fun doing it.

What you’ll do to be successful

1.) Messaging + Narrative Development

    • Support the development and evolution of our messaging framework and positioning strategy in close partnership with the VP of Marketing and Product Marketing.
    • Translate product positioning into clear, differentiated messages across audiences and use cases
    • Partner with product marketing to ensure messaging consistency across launches, product pages, sales enablement, and demand campaigns
    • Pressure-test upstream positioning to ensure it resonates in the market—digging beyond surface-level product descriptions to shape messaging that’s actually compelling to brokers, HR, and other key audiences

We’ll measure success by:

  • A messaging framework that gets adopted across teams—not just created and shelved
  • Clear, differentiated narratives that resonate with both brokers and HR buyers
  • Internal stakeholders referencing your messaging in decks, emails, and conversations (i.e., it’s actually sticking)
  • Improved message pull-through in PR, sales enablement, and demand gen assets

2.) Campaign Leadership

Work cross-functionally to build and drive campaign themes that align to the buyer journey, business priorities and market trends

    • Work cross-functionally to build and drive campaign themes that align to the buyer journey, business priorities and market trends
    • Own campaign messaging architecture and content execution, with support from the VP of Marketing and Product Marketing on overarching themes and hooks: What’s the hook? What do we need to say? Who are we saying it to?
    • Oversee content strategy for campaign execution across paid, web, email, and social (in partnership with content owners)

We’ll measure success by:

  • Campaigns that feel coordinated and confident—tight hooks, consistent story, aligned assets
  • Performance lift in mid- and lower-funnel engagement driven by campaign content

3.) Content Strategy & Editorial Oversight

  • Own the content calendar across blog, website, resource center, product content, and strategic communications, and play an active role in our upcoming website overhaul, helping shape narrative, structure, and content experience
  • Ensure content is aligned to our positioning, optimized for SEO, and prioritized by business impact
  • Provide editorial guidance and quality control across content types—hands-on editing, not just strategy
  • Work with demand gen to ensure content drives measurable outcomes tied to funnel stage and conversion
  • Collaborate with our agency partner on SEO-focused content, ensuring it aligns with our messaging, campaign themes, and performance goals

We’ll measure success by…

  • SEO and blog performance improvements (e.g., organic traffic, rankings for priority terms)
  • Website experience that better supports storytelling and conversion (esp. post-relaunch)
  • Fewer “random acts of content,” more connected narratives with measurable outcomes

4.) Executive and Corporate Comms

  • Partner with the VP of Marketing and external PR agency to ensure our media presence aligns with product positioning, market narrative, and campaign priorities
  • Coordinate across PR, execs, and content stakeholders to drive clear, consistent messaging in external-facing materials
  • Support executive comms, thought leadership, and partner messaging that aligns with brand tone and strategic goals

We’ll measure success by…

  • Increased press coverage or earned mentions that align with company goals
  • Stronger internal confidence in how Jellyvision shows up in the public sphere
  • A clear, compelling external story that ties together product innovation and brand purpose

5.) Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • You’ll manage 1–2 team members and oversee cross-functional collaboration with creative, PR, and demand gen
  • Collaborate closely with product marketing, demand gen, creative, and PR to ensure campaigns are well-resourced, well-timed, and well-messaged
  • Establish content performance metrics in partnership with demand gen and analytics

We’ll measure success by…

  • Team members who are clear on priorities, producing high-impact work, and growing in their roles
  • Regular reporting that connects content activity to business outcomes
