Job Description:

Develops and executes test strategies, test plans, and test cases for various types of testing including functional, integration, regression, and automation -- across lines of business. Coaches or mentors other testers on either business, application or system knowledge and testing processes.

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Test, design, support, deploy advanced technology solutions of medium scale.
• Work independently and apply advanced engineering skills, tools, practices, and techniques to all deliverables.
• Understand the software requirements, contribute to estimations, and ensure quality for high level solution design of intermediate complexity and simplify it for others.
• Have strong functional knowledge that supports deliveries, and an SME for the process/application.
• Participate in test scripts/scenarios reviews, ability to contribute to quality governance metrics.
• Apply business knowledge in designing the test scripts and scenarios, including the data flows between interfacing systems.
• Contribute to interviewing and assessing candidates to help us build a diverse and talented team and mentor quality engineers in the team.
• Contribute to engineering events and motivate team members to participate and contribute. Keep informed on latest industry practices.
• Influence and contribute to the continuous improvement within the team.
• Ensure documentation and creation of knowledge repository and influence team to contribute and use it.

SUCCESS INDICATOR

• Expert in DevOps suite and advanced understanding of integrating of test repository into CI/CD pipeline.
• Test Modules independently tested, integrated & supported with advanced understanding of functional aspects
• QE mentored & coached and ability to resolve technical impediments for your team and ensuring learnings are recorded for future.
• Participation level in interviews to hire best talent
• Ownership of work distribution during sprint planning and refinement, ensuring quality, timeliness of the deliverables.
• Understanding of good functional knowledge, and leading test teams independently, contribute to UAT, no defect leakage.
• Lead CI, CoPs participation, Tech Talks, creating Accelerators, knowledge nuggets. Execute PoC/PoTs by continuously investing in upskilling & poly-skilling

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Advanced engineering, system administration, quality engineering (QE), support & testing of medium scale.
• Ability to build and design high level solution and develop high complexity automation scripts with zero error (e.g., functionality, smoke and regression scripts), written to be read as well as executed.
• Understanding of Life Insurance and Related Concepts and how these are applied to Business Applications, including data flows between interfacing systems.
• Practitioner for Service Management (ITIL) & applies expertise to achieve optimal availability and reliability. Identify and raise red flags in a proactive manner.
• Effectively utilize and influence multiple software development and deployment methodologies e.g., TDD, BDD, along with ensuring secure coding practices, best practices of testing and Agile/ DevOps principles, Strong knowledge and experience in DevOps and/or Cloud.
• Identify & influence continuous improvement opportunities and drive implementation for team.
• Lead test scripts reviews and can sign off on small/medium test solutions. 
• Help team have a broader view on the deliveries and its impact; influence and resolve technical issues for the team.
• Conduct POCs/POTs by collaborating across platforms.
• Lead continuous testing for genercis automates regression test using approved tool/fw.
• Advanced knowledge & expertise in two or more test automation framework and tools framework.
