Finance Associate

Position Overview:
The Finance Associate supports key financial, accounting, and operational processes within the organization. This includes preparing and analyzing reports, maintaining spreadsheets and databases, and reconciling general ledger accounts that impact income and expenses. The role also supports monthly and quarterly closing tasks, forecasting, and various internal and external reporting requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver excellent service to team members and external stakeholders in a professional, positive manner.

  • Analyze and reconcile financial data including cash, investments, and general ledger accounts.

  • Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and Excel-based tools (e.g., pivot tables, graphs).

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports such as liquidity, loan quality, and allowance for loan loss.

  • Participate in month-end close processes and journal entry preparation.

  • Support audits, regulatory reviews, and examinations by compiling required financial data and documentation.

  • Track charge-offs and recoveries and assist in developing reports.

  • Update internal procedures and documentation related to finance operations.

  • Help with budgeting and financial forecasting efforts, including cash flow and investment analysis.

  • Maintain and report interest rate changes for internal use and market tracking.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, graphs).

  • Ability to analyze financial statements and interpret data.

  • Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with financial systems (knowledge of Symitar or similar platforms is a plus).


Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • 1–2 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably in banking or financial services.

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred (may substitute for experience).

  • Familiarity with financial regulations, including BSA, AML, and OFAC compliance requirements.
