Gainbridge strives to offer products through its platform that are simple, intuitive, and backed by smart technology with no complexity or hidden fees. About the Role

We’re looking for a highly driven and methodical Lead QA Automation Engineer who thrives on building scalable, high-impact quality solutions and elevating both the systems and people around them. You’ll play a key role in shaping our automation architecture, mentoring team members, and ensuring our QA and SDLC processes are both effective and continuously improving.

You’ll balance deep technical execution with strong communication and business awareness – making you a critical partner to product, engineering, and leadership teams.

What You’ll Do

Technical Execution

  • Design, implement, and maintain UI and API test automation using Playwright and TypeScript
  • Own and evolve the test architecture, collaborating across teams while guiding final decisions
  • Write comprehensive test plans, edge case scenarios, and detailed test cases for complex features
  • Perform code reviews (MRs) to ensure high-quality test coverage and maintainable test code

Planning & Delivery

  • Break down complex features into testable components and define automation strategy per scope
  • Provide and validate estimations for test efforts and continuously track/adjust them as needed
  • Collaborate closely in QA syncs, sprint planning, and retrospectives to drive delivery quality

Communication & Collaboration

  • Proactively clarify requirements and close gaps before development begins
  • Foster open channels of communication between QA, engineering, and product
  • Act as a quality advocate and align testing priorities with business needs and customer value

Continuous Improvement & Mentorship

  • Evaluate and improve QA and SDLC processes for better speed, clarity, and quality
  • Share knowledge and mentor other engineers, enabling growth through structured feedback and guidance
  • Stay curious: constantly learn, adapt, and teach others emerging testing strategies and tools

What You Bring

  • Solid hands-on experience with Playwright and strong fluency in TypeScript
  • A structured, process-oriented mindset with proven ability to plan, execute, and track test efforts
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – you can explain, influence, and align
  • Ability to make architectural decisions thoughtfully, collaboratively, and decisively
  • Deep ownership mindset – you care about the “why” behind features and value-driven testing
  • Natural curiosity and a drive to learn and improve, both personally and across the team
  • Experience mentoring junior QA engineers or cross-functional teammates is a strong plus

You’ll Thrive Here If You...

  • Enjoy seeing things through from start to finish – design, execution, review, improvement
  • Love organizing complexity into actionable steps and predictable outcomes
  • Want to make a real impact – not just in test code, but in processes, people, and product
  • Appreciate a fast-moving environment that values clarity, reliability, and self-direction

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in QA, with 3+ years leading automation efforts in fast-paced environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and TypeScript
  • Proven track record designing and maintaining scalable test automation for UI and API
  • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and working with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP)
  • Ability to plan and lead test strategies across complex features and delivery cycles
  • Strong communication skills – can align teams, clarify scope, and advocate for quality
  • Experience mentoring engineers and improving QA and SDLC processes
  • Comfortable balancing technical depth with business needs in a collaborative setting
