Job description

Your role 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic communications specialist with strong content production skills. As a member of EMBL’s distributed Communications group and EMBL-EBI’s Communications team, you will produce high-quality content, and support the day-to-day running of social media. You will also use your media relations skills to identify and get press coverage for EMBL-EBI stories.

You have 

  • Experience of developing engaging content for a variety of platforms and audiences and a talent for telling stories using creative and innovative approaches.

  • Experience of pitching technical stories to the media, identifying stories with media potential, working with journalists and briefing spokespeople.

  • Experience and understanding of how to produce content for and manage digital channels including social media.

  • An understanding of best practice approaches in evaluating communications activities.

  • A passion for science and technology and a well developed ability to build relationships and work as part of a team.
     

You may also have

  • Another European language
  • Experience in search engine and AI search optimisation, event management or experience creating digital assets using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
     

Contract length: 3 years (renewable up to 9 years)

Salary: Grade 5, monthly salary of £3,229 after tax but excluding pension and insurance contributions. Plus generous benefits.
