School Summary:

Inspire Connections Academy is a tuition-free, online public charter school serving students in grades K–12 throughout Idaho. It is also part of the global learning company Pearson. Inspire Connections Academy is authorized under state law by the Idaho Charter School Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors. The school is operated by Inspire Academics, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Education, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Inspire Connections Academy has met the criteria for educational quality established by Cognia Global Commission. It is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the Southern Associates of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Inspire Connections Academy participates in the PERSI retirement system.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Working from the Boise Office at 9550 W Bethel Ct, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for daily administrative tasks of the school, such as answering phones and email, receiving visitors, assisting the School Leader, the Director of Business Services & Office Manager, teachers, and other staff with administrative tasks, filing, and other duties as assigned.

Other key responsibilities include the following:

  • Front Office Support: Greet and assist students, parents, staff, and visitors; answer phone calls and direct them accordingly.
  • Scheduling: Schedule meetings, conferences, and appointments.
  • Correspondence: Draft, proofread, and distribute memos, emails, newsletters, and letters.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain student and staff files, enter data into the online student information system, and ensure confidentiality and organization.
  • Inventory Management: Track and order office supplies, educational materials, and equipment as needed to ensure a well-stocked inventory.
  • Mail Distribution: Receive, sort, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Enrollment/Withdrawal: assist with new student registration, withdrawals, and record transfers.
  • First Point of Contact: Address general questions from students and families, escalating when needed.
  • Communication Hub: Relay information between administration and staff.
  • Meeting Support: Prepare agendas, take minutes, and distribute materials for staff meetings or committees.
  • Event Planning: Assist with the School Library, back-to-school week for staff, testing days, and other in-office events.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of the school’s marketing, public relations, and social media efforts, including creating and sharing content, supporting outreach campaigns, maintaining brand consistency, and helping to promote school events and initiatives to engage both current and prospective families.
  • Testing Coordination: Assist the Manager of State Testing with logistics for state testing or assessments (room setup, materials, student lists).
  • FERPA & Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and staff records.
  • Compliance Tasks: Assist with reports, filings, or forms required for state and federal compliance or school audits.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • This is a 12-month position based in the Boise office at 9550 W Bethel Ct, reporting to the Director of Business Services and Office Manager.
  • Strong technology skills (especially with Google Suite, Microsoft Windows, Salesforce, and MS Office programs).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • The applicant will need a high degree of flexibility, a track record as a team player, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to use a personal electronic device and an email address for two-step authentication.
  • Expected starting hourly rate of $17-19 an hour for a level I role, depending on experience
